LAW 48: ASSUME FORMLESSNESS

Fixed form invites attack. When people can predict your pattern, they can build traps that fit you perfectly.

Assume formlessness. Keep goals steady, but keep methods flexible. Shift tactics with circumstances. Refuse to become a single thing others can label and contain. Labels are cages, and cages are targets.

Formlessness is not chaos. It is responsiveness: the ability to change shape before they can aim. Rigid people become easy to corner. Fluid people are harder to grasp, harder to anticipate, harder to defeat.

Stay adaptable in alliances, in timing, in presentation. Do not let success freeze you into a predictable style. What worked yesterday becomes your weakness tomorrow if others can study it.

Let opponents prepare for a version of you that never arrives. When they aim at your old shape, you have already moved. In a changing world, durability comes from motion, not walls. The most powerful position is the one that cannot be fixed in place.
