Think as you like, but behave like others. Adopt local manners, mirror norms, and speak the room’s language. Camouflage lets you move without becoming the target. It buys you time to build position.
Share your real views only where they are safe and useful. Deviate openly only after you have protection: status, allies, leverage. Until then, outward similarity is a shield.
This is not cowardice. It is strategy. Many people confuse honesty with exposure. Exposure is often unnecessary.
The goal is freedom of action. If you look like everyone else, you can gather information, form alliances, and make plans without triggering resistance. Once you are established, you can break norms selectively, at moments that serve you.
