LAW 8: MAKE OTHER PEOPLE COME TO YOU—USE BAIT IF NECESSARY

Whoever chases accepts the other side’s frame: their timing, their mood, their conditions. Pull others toward you so you negotiate on your ground.

Use bait that fits their hunger: access, status, relief, opportunity, belonging, or a solution they cannot easily find elsewhere. Let them invest something to reach you: time, effort, reputation. Investment makes people value the relationship and fear losing it.

When they come to you, you control setting and pace. You can present options instead of pleading for permission. You can define boundaries without looking defensive.

Do not push when you can pull. The first step is the hardest. Arrange it so they take that step and call it their idea. Chasing makes you cheap; being sought makes you powerful.
